Crepes

Today we righted a wrong. After two days in Paris, we finally had crepes for lunch. Nutella for Miss M, ham and cheese for Paul and I, and D had another croque Monsieur (and that’s after the three croissants he had for breakfast.)
We spent the morning at Notre Dame – walked right in when it opened. And then spent 90 minutes in line to visit the bell tower. This was my third time at Notre Dame, but first time up the tower so I was determined! The kids enjoyed it…D especially liked the narrow winding stairs and Paul was excited to see the gargoyles up close. By the time we were done with the bell tower, the line stretched through the plaza and back in order to get into the church.
We did a quick stop at Saint Chapelle, admiring the stained glass windows, went next door to the Conciergerie and then the Isle of St Louis for ice cream at Maison Berthillion
Popped in to a few shops and supermarket before heading back to the apartment for a brief rest.
Tonight took the subway to the Montmartre area. The kids sat patiently at the restaurant as people smoked on either side of them……local flavor! We enjoyed a delicious charcuterie plate, cocktails, I ordered “Schweppes” for the kids thinking it was ginger ale, but it was tonic water and they both revolted. The rest of dinner was delicious.
We strolled around Montmartre and visited Sacre Couer, a beautiful church set high on a hill above the city. Then we found a good spot to view the Eiffel Tower lights sparkle at 10p (it happens hourly for 5 minutes.)
As we walked to the subway to head home for the night, Miss M said “I wish I could get a lounge chair and just watch that all night. I just can’t describe the beauty, Mommy.”
And on that note, we close out our time in Paris – definitely a success.

NOTE: most of our good pics are on the camera that doesn’t connect to the iPhone so we need to wait til we’re home to share some of our better pics.
