We’re having fun with all the Grand Cayman “wildlife.”
- Turtles: we saw 50+ large turtles and hundreds of small turtles that we could pick up and play with. Their skin was so soft and they flapped their fins hard on our hands while we held them out of the water.
- Iguanas: large iguanas, at least 1 foot long, are everywhere.
- Roosters: There’s quite a few roosters just roaming around. I wish I could say that the sound of roosters has awoken us each morning, but unfortunately it’s been our iPhones!
- Fish: I have no idea what they are, but we’ve seen little blue fish and yellow fish at the beach. Snorkeling is on the agenda for today (in between conference calls!)
It’s 7:30 AM Cayman time, I’m sitting on our balcony, and it’s so quiet. Just the sound of the occasional rooster, wind rustling through the palm trees, and people putting the finishing touches on the pool for tonight’s reception. The production company we hired for this event has built several walkways across the pool so people don’t just have to surround the pool at the party, but can walk across it as well. Should be neat!
It’s been funny to watch Wendy’s reaction to this event: the diversity of attendees (it’s like the UN here this week.) The guy who picked us up at the airport (see pic.) The production of the event itself — she spent Monday watching them erect a huge stage and platforms and lighting and music on the beach for Monday night’s 300 person reception…she said it reminded her of MTV Beach Party but I assured her its not that exciting!
