This week, the adventure continues in Grand Cayman. I was debating whether to blog about the trip, but so far my time at the Ritz and the island itself has been worth sharing!
Day 1: I spent the afternoon working and tracking down my luggage which didn’t make it from MIA, but the evening was spent relaxing with Wendy and a coworker at Taikun for a 3+ hour omakase sushi dinner. At the end of the meal we got complimentary prosecco and “happy birthday” written in dark chocolate on a large bar of white chocolate. So cute! The Ritz is beautiful and our room overlooks one of the several pools on the property.
Day 2: After a morning of work, we spent the afternoon at Dolphin Discovery swimming with the dolphins. We started in a pool touching stingrays…so cool. And then we spent an hour in a separate pool with dolphins…oh the dolphins! We held their fins and they pulled us around the pool, we gave them kisses and they kissed us, we hugged the dolphins, rubbed their bellies, and best of all they pushed our feet and launched us through the water — like something you’d see in a show Sea World. They dolphins and staff even sang us happy birthday, and danced with us in the water. I wish there was video…I only have 100+ pictures! I cannot express how beautiful the mammals were and how amazing the experience was to be so intimate with them…really a once in a lifetime experience. Mahi mahi citrus salad for lunch overlooking the ocean and people snorkeling in an inlet nearby, and we held baby turtles at a nearby turtle farm. And it’s not even 5pm yet….off to the beach!
